They were helping me out in the clinic giving me IV fluids to combat some of this wt loss and lack of energy. Peggy the Nurse Practitioner has to be out of the clinic for the next 2 days so she went ahead and did my bone marrow biopsy. This was the 3rd one-probably the one that was the most uncomfortable despite getting a pre-dose of 1 mg ativan. They did need 6 tubes to do lots of cytogenetic tests so maybe some of the discomfort was from pulling so much to get those spicules out. I won't likely hear anything from the testing until the middle of next week. They will need to look at the % blasts as well as the chromosomal abnormalities. My leukemia has an inversion of chromosome 16 so it will be interesting to see what else turns up.
I came home after the biopsy and took a 2 hr nap. I feel beat. I am going to try a new nutrition regimen to see if I can reverse this weight loss. The regimen will be a fluid drink in my hand or nearby at all times (think Karen and Freddie with their water bottle) and a snack or solid meal every 2 hours. Obviously I can't wait on my appetite to kick in (that just isn't happening) so I will have to force myself to eat on a timed schedule. You know food is not as fun when you have to make yourself eat it. It's a whole lot better to actually want to eat. I am going to get some protein powder to add to foods too.

Hi Teresa and Holly,
Greetings, love and healthy wishes from the Boston area! I spent last night reading through your blog and catching up. I'm Deb Reilly's niece and had the pleasure of meeting you at Jason's wedding. Marty was very thoughtful in sharing your blog link with me. Listening to you and your friends and family I’m encouraged to get out and do a little more in nature. There is a beautiful path around the Weston Reservoir that I plan to try and hike with Isabelle, my 15 month old, in a pack on my back. I’m not sure I’ll make it but I’ll bring my girlfriend and her baby for encouragement.
I just gave my cousin Paul Reilly and a friend of mine hangers and bird feeders as house warming gifts. They each had cardinals, finches and many more birds as soon as they put the seed out. I also enjoyed watching my 4 year old, Charlotte, and her friend running at the feeder and growling to chase away the too-friendly squirrel.
The protein powder sounds like a good idea. I think it comes in vanilla so mixed with fruit like a smoothie might be worth trying.
I'm so happy that you are writing this blog and keeping in touch with friends and family. Friends of ours used CarePages.com when their son was sick. They found it both useful and emotionally cleansing. For the mom it was sort of a relief to be able to share the difficult details of each day including all the numbers that were so real and important in the moment. I hope you are finding enjoyment out of writing to us.
Lots of love and healthy thoughts coming your way!
Love, Jessica Graham
My wish for you is a better day today and each day following.
Petey cat's advice for being a successful chow hound is to keep a well-stocked food bowl at hand at all times and several soft pillows available for napping in between eating. Every time you wake, eat a little something, look for a little loving, and then nap some more.
Love, Miriam (and Petey)
Hi Theresa: It's Ronie checking in again. Yea, I think I get it about HAVING to eat. Does anything with peppermint sound tolerable, like Junior Mints??? I got an email from Naomi yesterday. She met a girl in her furniture making class from Columbus. I'll be interested in finding out if she still lives here. Yesterday sounded very unfun. I hope today is better. love, Ronie
