Okay, More than a Shred

I am feeling better now, having kept my temperature under 100 for most of the day. At one point, I felt myself heating up, but they gave me a motrin, and it made it all better. My numbers came back great today. I have 303,000 plt's, Hgb 9.1, and 1600 white cells. And a whopping 40% of those are neutrophils!

Yes, I have neutrophils again folks. I can fight infections-all kinds of infections. Fungal infections, bacterial infections, viral infections. Maybe I had to lose most of my hair to free up enough protein for the white cells. Yippee!

Great news, Teresa! By the way, I curbsided Chay today on one of his patients and filled him in (very briefly) on your situation. He was, of course, incredibly distraught and said for you to give him a call and run your stuff past him and he would be happy to give you an opinion! He was also quite pleased by the inversion 16 business.

Dear Tree and Holly,
We're just back from camping/paddling in the Lake Saranac region of the Adirondacks. It was so beautiful and peaceful there and I know you would have loved it.

We thought about you often during the trip and look forward to the day when you two can take your next trip together to someplace beautiful and inspiring.

Tree, I'm sorry to hear that you're stuck in the hospital, but this is great news about your numbers! I'm glad to hear that your fever is staying down too and hope that you're feeling stronger by the minute.

I had planned to cook y'all some asparagus lasagna -- with whipped cream for some weight gain! -- but will hold off till you're back home again. I did pick up some pecan logs for you in Virginia though and would love to drop by the hospital, say hello, and deliver this sweet southern treat to you.

Strength and much love to you and Holly.
Love,
Angela

Tree and Holly,
Great to hear the good news of white cells and neutrophils and reduced fever! Hope you are resting well and churning out more cells as you sleep. Thinking of both of you and sending virtual hugs.
Love, Julia
